Autunno in Barbagia 2023

The Church of San Giorgio and the Sas Trintas Battallas nuraghe form the summit around which the village of Lodine develops, the last survivor of a series of medieval settlements that dotted the municipal territory. The nuragic site of Soroeni is the most fascinating archaeological attraction.

The panoramic position and the good air and water make the village a small mountain health resort. The economy is predominantly agro-pastoral, reflecting an extended parental structure that almost constitutes one large family. The cycle of the seasons punctuates the life of the village thanks to the lush surrounding nature, which has in the municipal park of Puddis its pride and joy.

Every period of the year has its own festival, from the Questua de sas Animas for All Saints' Day to the rich carnival, centred on improvised poetry aimed at mocking su Zeommo, the puppet representing a character who has distinguished himself over the years for his misdeeds. The festivals of Santu Zorzi in April and Santu Liberadore in August are the moments when community dancing takes over, accompanied in a light-hearted fashion by the voices and musicians of the village. The life of Lodine is enlivened not only by the culture of a tenore singing; the village has always been open to new artistic and musical languages and, in the past twenty years, hosted the 'ArteLodine' event, which has enriched the village with the characteristic serrandales and other valuable works of art. The food and wine reflects the Barbagia expression, but with significant local variations, for instance the seasoning of sausage with wild garlic, su gusazu or the unusual culurzones de sambene.
